JOIN SOMETHING

All high school students need to be involved in some type of extra-curricular activity. These experiences make high school so much fun. This could be athletics, band, chorus, newspaper, yearbook or any club / organization. WHS offers many different types of opportunities for students to get involved in. Most of my fond memories of high school happened outside of a classroom. I bet many adults would say the same thing. I encourage students to find something to join and create some memories.
Our volleyball team is currently in first place in Region 1-AA. The cheerleaders have two first place wins in competition. Girls and Boys cross country teams are having great seasons and our football team is 3 – 3. The girl’s tennis team is doing a great job. Band students have performed in several competitions and brought home trophies. The Interact and Key club are wonderful service organizations that are currently looking for new members. Join something!

Junior Ring Ceremony

Last night, 101 members of the junior class participated in the annual WHS Junior class ring ceremony. The ring committee wrote and conducted the ceremony, for their peers in the John H Hostetler Auditorium, with the help of Travis Conn from Jostens. The students looked forward to this day with great anticipation for several months.
The class ring is a symbol, that the students are approaching the end of a chapter in their lives – their high school days. Some may see it as a coming of age, but it is also a visible sign of their hard work and accomplishments. It is a bond that keeps the Class of 2010 together after graduation day and through the decades.
Throughout history a ring has been used to symbolize eternity and perfection, and to celebrate authority, love and accomplishment. Early class rings were regarded as "circles of friendship" between classmates. Today's class ring has just as much meaning and symbolism. Class of 2010 wear your ring with pride! It is a symbol that you are a member of the RAZORBACK family.
